Alphonse Mucha

A Czech painter and designer whose decorative posters, panels and illustrations became some of the best-known images of Art Nouveau Paris. Back in his homeland, he spent 1912 to 1926 painting twenty huge canvases on the history of the Slavic peoples, which he gave to the Czech nation in 1928.
