Géza Vastagh

A Hungarian painter from Kolozsvár who trained in Munich and came to specialise in animals, especially cattle and lions. In 1898 a state scholarship took him to Algeria and Tunisia to study lions, and he later sketched at the zoos of Hamburg, Leipzig and Berlin.
