Utagawa Hiroshige

A Japanese ukiyo-e artist, considered the last great master of the tradition. He turned the genre toward landscape, in long series of views of Japan's highways and of Edo in subtle colour and soft gradations, and his compositions influenced the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists.
