Bauhaus
A German school of art, design and architecture, open from 1919 to 1933 in Weimar, Dessau and finally Berlin. Founded by the architect Walter Gropius, it joined crafts and fine art, aimed to unite artistic vision with mass production and function, and became one of the most influential currents in modern design.
