Young Poland was the modernist period in Polish visual arts, literature and music, from about 1890 to 1918. It grew out of opposition to the sober, practical outlook of the generation before and drew on Symbolism, Impressionism and Art Nouveau. Many of its exhibitions were held at the Palace of Art in Kraków, home of the city's Society of Friends of Fine Arts.
