Maurice Prendergast
A Newfoundland-born American artist who painted in oil and watercolour, and one of the first in the United States to use the broad areas of colour of Post-Impressionism. His delicate scenes of modern life have a mosaic-like colour, and he was a member of The Eight.

Henri, Glackens, Luks, Shinn, Sloan, Prendergast, Lawson and Davies showed together in 1908 against the National Academy. George Bellows was Robert Henri's student, not one of the Eight.
