William Glackens
An American realist painter and a founder of the Ashcan School, which rejected the conservative National Academy of Design's rules of beauty. He also helped Albert C. Barnes buy the European paintings at the core of the Barnes Foundation, and his later, brighter work shows a strong debt to Renoir.

Henri, Glackens, Luks, Shinn, Sloan, Prendergast, Lawson and Davies showed together in 1908 against the National Academy. George Bellows was Robert Henri's student, not one of the Eight.
