This print belongs to the Shin-hanga movement, which revived traditional Japanese woodblock printing while incorporating modern sensibilities. Hiroaki Takahashi, also known as Shōtei, focused on quiet landscapes and everyday scenes, often emphasizing atmosphere over narrative. In this work, soft gradients and careful color transitions create a sense of calm and stillness.
