Cubism
Created principally by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque in Paris between 1907 and 1914, Cubism broke subjects apart and reassembled them to show several viewpoints at once, rejecting traditional perspective. Often called the most influential art movement of the 20th century, it was soon taken up by Juan Gris, Robert Delaunay and Fernand Léger, among others.
