Ukiyo-e
A Japanese genre of woodblock prints and paintings that flourished from the 17th to the 19th century, showing beauties, kabuki actors, sumo wrestlers, folk tales, travel scenes and landscapes. The name means 'pictures of the floating world', the pleasure-seeking city life of Edo, now Tokyo.
